Well many moons have passed since I have been blogging (Thanks Jessica for reminding me!)
Here are some one-liners to catch you up with me!
We were learning about natural resources and learned that rocks are a natural resource.
Me: "What can you use rocks for?"
C: "You can use them to make an ax."
Me: "That would take a lot of work!"
C: "I know all about that kind of stuff. I have a little Indian blood in me."
One student lost his winter coat before Christmas so he got a new one. He has lost the new one 2x now! He lost it again on Friday and the kids from his class were looking all over for it.
Mrs. C: Where is that coat?
S: Mrs. C? (In a very somber and quiet voice, which this kid isn't) I am the suckiest kid in this class.
On a T-shirt of one of my students:
Save gas! Toot in a jar! It even had a picture of a "toot" in a jar... priceless.
One of my 2nd graders came to school with his ear pierced. He said his mom pierced it that morning. I said it looked ridiculous. That probably wasn't very nice of me, but it was a gold hoop on a 7 year old! Luckily 5 mins later it fell out and I wouldn't let him put it back in!
I had one student tell another student (who just happened to be the biggest kid in our class) that he was going to "kick his A**". I wish we could still spank kids...
My new favorite book is The Boy Who Looked Like Lincoln. It's pretty funny... I hadn't ever read it clear through and found that it was not exactly school appropriate. Closed that cover pretty quickly! (no one noticed) I guess the cover should have been a dead giveaway. "Written by the guy who writes for the Simpsons!" It is still a funny book though.
